Comments:

Based on Dean Franklin Coffman Jr.'s statement about "Michael (my American patriarch) was born in a Grunstad, Hess and not in the Steffisburg area" I have charted the European connections as shown above. This does remove the dilemma of both groups claiming the same common ancestors, but users should proceed with caution when quoting this chart. It is still only a working hypothesis and more information may bring about more revisions. (ddk)
